Moving for Mental Health participants

Chrysalis created the Moving for Mental Health Run/Walk to increase awareness of the benefits of physical health on mental wellness. According to research by the National Center for Health Statistics, “Physical activity enhances mental health.” In their study, the level of physical activity was shown to be positively associated with general well-being, lower levels of anxiety and depression, and positive mood.

Dani Rischall, Chrysalis Inc.’s Executive Director states that, “Addressing physical health in conjunction with mental health reduces the stigma that surrounds mental illness. We believe that everyone deserves the right to feel like an active member of their community.” To date, Moving for Mental health has raised over $20,000! These funds go to support work opportunities for over 150 individuals each year.
