Join Us for Our 4th Annual Shared Threads: Stories That Weave Us Together Event & Fundraiser!
Rooted in the values of accessibility, belonging, connection, collaboration, diversity, and equity, Shared Threads: Stories that Weave Us Together – presented by Chrysalis, Inc. – offers community members a platform to share personal stories of resilience and connection.
Now in its fourth year, Shared Threads returns this March with the theme “HOME” – exploring what home means to each of us, how we find it, build it, and carry it within ourselves and our communities. Through live, personal stories, this event challenges stigma and fosters empathy, helping our community see one another with greater compassion. The evening will be filled with laughter, tears, and moments of profound recognition, leaving audiences inspired and deeply connected.
When: Tuesday, March 3, 2026 | Doors Open: 4:30pm | Event Time: 5:30-7pm
Where: Goodman Community Center – Brassworks Building | 214 Waubesa St. Madison, WI
What: Prior to the event, Chrysalis hosts a three-part storytelling workshop series with Jen Rubin and Takeyla Benton (Inside Stories Podcast, The Moth Madison StorySLAM) for 12-18 participants, staff, board members, and community supporters. Two Chrysalis Certified Peer Specialists also provide support throughout the process. 8-10 workshop participants are then selected and paid to share their stories at the live event.
Why: Sharing lived experiences is powerful and crucial, especially with rising mental health and substance use challenges. Storytelling connects us deeply, fostering individual healing and positively impacting our community.
Who: Shared Threads is a FREE event open to the public. Donations are encouraged to keep this event free and contribute to our core mission. Your support, monetary or through attendance, uplifts Chrysalis’s mission of hope, healing, and wellness, and directly empowers our courageous storytellers.
