Peer Recovery Groups
Chrysalis peer recovery groups offer individuals the opportunity to connect with their community in a different way. Each of the five groups offered at Chrysalis all gives consumers the chance to address new goals and learn new skills. Below is a schedule and description of Chrysalis peer recovery groups.
Monday: We’re All In It Together (10:00-12:00)
This group will provide people with the space to check-in and discuss self-esteem and how to maintain good emotional mental health. Here peers can share their thoughts or simply listen. This group offers guided stretches and the opportunity to learn communication and self-advocacy skills.
Wednesday: Careers in Recovery Group (10:00-12:00)
This group supports whatever work means to you. Facilitated by a Chrysalis vocational peer specialist who has completed this curriculum. Here peers will empower each other to recognize and fulfill work-life goals. This group loosely follows a curriculum created by grassroots empowerment.
Thursday: Fitness Group (10:00-12:00)
Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, chair yoga or Frisbee, this group will keep you moving and smiling. This group is for those who enjoy exercise, or for those who would like to learn more ways to enjoy exercise. This group will also discuss other ways to get healthy.
Friday: Career Workshop (10:00-12:00)
This is a gathering of job seekers designed to provide support, information, new ideas, and resources to those seeking employment. The group will start with a check in, to see how each member’s job search is going and then a job searching topic will be brought up. Topics addressed in group will include: Resume and reference building, guest speakers, Personality tests, mock interviews, networking and other job searching concerns with input from the group members
We look forward to working with you!
